It is an interesting time for us as we turn our attention to the next 10 years and how we transition from full time work to… well we are really not sure.
What that space truly look like is yet to been fully explored. So here’s a little bit about us and our thoughts on transitioning to grey nomading the seas.
I’m Tessa,
work wise, I am a communication, change and conflict specialist. I love helping people master their challenging situations and conversations. I have been doing large scale change projects and I am starting to try and figure when I stop taking on the big gigs to focus more on shorter term consulting gigs (to fit in more sailing). I have built a professional development portal focused on developing your communication skills providing lots of free resources, interviews as well as some moderately on-line priced courses:
- Workplace Conversations, tackling every day challenges
- Confident Conversations, preparing managers for difficult conversations in 90 minutes or less.
I have a global coaching practice and I love my work.
And Marty,
work wise is doing some really cool stuff. His day job sees him designing totally environmental friendly, biodegradable food packaging. Awesome right.
When he is not working in his day job, he loves sailing, racing (cars or bikes) and until last year (2018) racing super bikes. A big “off” (accident) and 3 months in a wheel chair saw him trade racing bikes for a boat which kick started our sailing adventures on our first boat Phoenix 7 (34ft Duncanson). Other cool things he has done in his young years have been, a wood turner, an indentured baker, an actor (theatre, musicals and screen) all before the kids arrived. Recently he had a principle part in a new movie called Magdela Rose, which at the time of posting is in front of the distribution houses for consideration. Also pretty cool, right?
He is an awesome grandfather and affectionally called “Boo Boo Marty” by my gorgeous granddaughter who thinks he is hilarous. Most importantly, he loves and lives life…. A passion we both share.
